SHADE Of The Union Speech: Trump And Pelosi Snubs Make Headlines

President Donald Trump delivered his much-anticipated annual State Of The Union address last night and, even though the event was hosted not outside of but inside the Capitol’s House Of Representatives, there was plenty of shade to go around.

After Trump delivered a speech that many Democrats derided with some quickly labeling it as a speech chock full of exaggerations and even outright lies, the President turned to soak in the Jim-Jones-in-Jamestown, cult-like applause and cheers from members of his own Republican party and then ignored the outstretched hand of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi after casually sliding the Speaker a folder containing printed copies of his speech as if handing a menu back to a waitress at Waffle House.

In turn, Pelosi shrugged the obvious snub off then moments later, theatrically tore up printed copies of the President’s speech. Pelosi then held the scraps of paper up triumphantly.

Evidently, the love is gone between the two powerful leaders.

Trump is expected to be acquitted by the Republican-dominated U.S. Senate today of impeachment charges that maintain he acted corruptly in withholding aid to U.S. ally Ukraine. As Democratic leader, Pelosi led the impeachment effort to try to boot Trump from office.

Meanwhile, in the speech, Trump took credit for the so-called economic boom some Americans are presently enjoying, and he also claimed his administration has given record numbers of dollars in support of HBCUs (Historically Black Colleges), amongst other disputable claims.
